Bogen schoolhouse, Döttingen
A clear architectural language pared down to essentials and a pragmatic floor plan make the schoolhouse in Döttingen an exemplary representative of its time.
Bogen primary school in Döttingen, Canton of Aargau augments an existing school complex. The extensive schedule of accommodation included twelve classrooms, two rooms for woodwork and metalwork, a room for religious instruction, a singing room with stage, and a teachers’ room with collection and library. All the rooms face away from the noise of the street and towards the green space.
The complex includes a large gymnasium with the related outdoor sports facilities as well as military accommodation and buildings for civil defence.
