Simon Edelmann was born in Germany in 1984. After completing the Swiss Federal Matura, he studied architecture at ETH Zurich from 2003 to 2008, graduating in 2009 under Professor Peter at Studio Markus Peter / Peter Märkli. This was followed by two years of professional experience and a year of travel and education, with stops around the globe.

In 2012, Simon Edelmann joined Fischer Architekten, becoming project manager in 2016. He gained a reputation in the field of competitions and successfully managed several implementation projects. From 2018 onwards, as a member of the extended management team, he contributed to design-related tasks across projects in all subphases and gradually took over responsibility for competitions.

Since 2020, he has been a member of the management team and a joint shareholder, and since 2023, he has been chairman of the board of directors. He is primarily responsible for design, manages competitions in this role, and sits on evaluation committees.

Gian Müller was born in Bern in 1982 and started his professional life as a ceramist in Crete. After returning to Switzerland, he completed an apprenticeship as a draughtsman at the Gewerblich-Industrielle Berufsschule (GIB) in Bern in 2010. He then worked in Bern and, in 2012, began studying architecture part-time at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 2016. This was followed by a Master’s degree at the ZHAW in Winterthur in 2023. 

Gian Müller joined Fischer Architekten in 2013. In 2014, he took over the role of project manager in the construction phase. From 2018 onwards, as a member of the extended management team, he was responsible for construction-related tasks at all project phases. 

In 2022, he joined the management team as a joint shareholder. His main activity today is the overall management of projects from preliminary project to execution. Alongside other management tasks and the supervision of general planning mandates, he is also responsible for the CAD/BIM area. Since 2025, he has been a member of the SIA 101 Regulatory Commission, representing the planners.

Mark van Kleef was born in Utrecht, the Netherlands, in 1968 and grew up in Switzerland. He studied architecture at ETH Zurich, graduating in 1996 under Professor Hans Kollhoff, and worked for some time as an assistant for design and construction at the chairs of Andrea Deplazes and Valerio Olgiati. In 1999, he joined Max Dudler Architekten as project manager and was responsible for establishing the Zurich office. Until 2017 he was managing director of this office and shared responsibility for all projects in Switzerland. He then spent three years working as head of development at a renowned real estate firm in Zug.

In 2020, Mark van Kleef joined Fischer Architekten as a member of the management team and joint shareholder. He oversees projects from the preliminary project through to completion, is responsible for general planning mandates and feasibility studies, and manages the tendering and contracting processes. 

Carol Gartmann was born in 1968 in New Jersey, USA. After attending secondary school in Vaduz, she completed an all-round banking internship in Zurich and Lugano before studying business administration at Zurich University. She then worked at Arthur Andersen (today Ernst & Young) and completed a part-time training course to become a certified Swiss auditor from 1996 to 1999. In 2000, she moved to agri.ch as head of finance, subsequently joining the management team at green.ch following a management buy-out. From 2004 onwards, for family reasons there followed a number of part-time positions as finance and personnel manager in various international and regional businesses in the engineering, medical and architecture sectors. 

In 2013, Carol Gartmann joined Fischer Architekten as head of human resources and finances. Since 2017, she has been a member of the management team and a joint shareholder. In addition to her original remit, she is responsible for developing the quality management system. 

Miguel Torres was born in Portugal in 1986 and studied architecture at the Technical University of Lisbon. An exchange year took him to Brazil, where he attended the University of São Paulo and gained his first practical experience. After graduating in Lisbon, he initially worked in Portugal for ARX Arquitectos and as an independent architect. In 2012, he moved to Switzerland to take up a position at Marti AG Architekten in the canton of Glarus.

Miguel Torres joined Fischer Architekten in 2016, where he took on the position of project manager in 2019. Since 2023, he has supported the management team as an associate and the firm as a fire protection specialist.

Daniel Schweiss was born in 1981 in the canton of St. Gallen and studied architecture at ETH Zurich. His first professional experience included a six-month internship in Los Angeles. After graduating with Prof. Adrian Meyer in 2008, he worked at Schwarz & Schwarz Architekten and later at Walser Architekturteam AG in Zurich.

In 2013, Daniel Schweiss joined Fischer Architekten. He has been a project manager since 2017 and, since 2024, has helped to shape the company as an associate. In addition to project management, he is responsible for conducting studies such as potential analyses and feasibility studies.
